Thu 18th Apr 2024

The Corinthia Hotel London has won in the “Best Suite” category at The European Hotel Design Awards 2012. The awards which celebrate outstanding innovations in the hospitality industry and hotel design in Europe, were announced on 20 November 2012 at a ceremony in London.

The European Hotel Design Awards are well established as the industry’s premier celebration of hotel design across Europe and judged by a panel of leading hotel designers, architects, owners, operators and developers.

The “Best Suite” category was dominated by the Corinthia, which had 6 of its own suites nominated for the award out of the 8 long shortlist, recognising the exceptional standards of recently completed hotel projects from around Europe.

Ardmore delivered the hotel, which had been empty since 2004, in a programme of just 2 years, and it now sits proudly as a grand 306 room hotel, which includes the largest hotel room in London, a four storey spa, grand marble entrance way and glass domed reception area.

As the main contractor on the project Ardmore was responsible for everything from excavation and ground stabilisation to providing a full fit-out service including fixtures and fittings carrying out much of the work in-house, and this award underlines Ardmore’s commitment and ability to deliver the highest conceivable quality. At times during the construction process, the Corinthia was the UK’s second largest single building site after the Olympic Stadium.
