Environmental Sustainability

Sustainability (header)

As a builder of residential, commercial and public buildings, we are proud of the positive impact we have made to local communities and the wider economy. However the industry is still facing significant environmental challenges that cannot be ignored.

  • Waste – At 400Mt per annum, construction is a major source of waste in the UK
  • Carbon – Half of UK carbon emissions are from the construction, operation and demolition of buildings

Whether it is the construction process or the design of a building we pro-actively support measures to reduce the impact of our activity on the environment.

A key feature of Ardmore’s ability to reduce waste and cut carbon is our centralised distribution and logistics facility based in London as well as our extensive off-site production capability including bathroom pods, joinery, architectural metalwork and structural steel. From these facilities we are able to recycle materials from site and reduce waste.

Our environmental management system is in place to ensure we continuously improve our environmental performance. We have recently agreed new targets to meet these challenges and are committing to halve construction waste to landfill and cut carbon over the next two years.

As part of our broad commitment to sustainability Ardmore has also achieved full chain-of-custody FSC accreditation.

Ardmore also operates Sustainable Sourcing and Ethical Purchasing Policies.
