Notting Hill Genesis has awarded Ardmore the contract to deliver the main works at the ‘Hackney Yards’ Development around Hackney Wick Station. The £75M contract includes the design and construction of four blocks of the Hackney Wick Masterplan to provide 190 residential units and over 4,000sqm of commercial space.
The new blocks are split across three sites around Hackney Wick Station and include over-station elements. Rising up to 8 stories, the brick-clad blocks will provide 190 mixed-tenure affordable units, 31 of which will be affordable rent and 159 units available for shared ownership. Each block will be set within three architecturally distinctive plots with high spec interiors to match.
The project also features over 4,000sqm of high-quality commercial space, including retail, community facilities, leisure space, low-cost workspace, landscaped public realm, roof terraces and podiums.
The design of the scheme reflects the character around Hackney Wick Station and its reputation as a creative quarter.
The appointment builds on Ardmore’s extensive experience of delivering major residential led projects, including the recently completed 387-unit Phase 4a of Battersea Power Station and the recent contract award of 371 units for LB Hackney at their Britannia regeneration project.
“We are delighted to have been appointed to deliver this residential mixed-use development in Hackney Wick.
I am especially pleased that Notting Hill Genesis have shown such confidence in us to deliver on this scheme. Over the last few months, we’ve built a strong and reliable team for this project, and we are sure to bring the buildings in line with the highest safety standards, without any compromise in quality.
We are looking forward to working with Notting Hill Genesis and to build on our impressive track record of major residential and regeneration schemes in London.”
