Our team worked closely with Falcon Tower Cranes to reduce carbon by introducing the new Northvolt Voltpack Battery System on site. The 281 kWh unit, charged by a 100 kVA generator, allowed us to replace a previous 250 kVA generator that had been running around the clock. With the new system, generator use dropped to an average of just 5 hours a day, delivering a cleaner and far more efficient power solution.
We also powered three tower cranes using the Revolution Battery System paired with a small diesel generator. This hybrid setup reduced generator run time to only 120-160 minutes per day depending on the crane. Altogether, these improvements have saved 494.3 tonnes of carbon, roughly the equivalent of powering hundreds of thousands of strings of Christmas lights for an entire holiday season.
The results have been hugely positive and reflect the commitment and innovation across the team, on a day that saw us join other industry leaders to share insights on digital advancements, automation, and cutting-edge low carbon solutions driving progress.
