We recently celebrated the topping out of 5 Chancery Lane, a key construction milestone marking the completion of the building’s highest point.
Joined by LS Estates, The Law Society and our project partners, the moment marks significant progress on this landmark retrofit.
Originally built in 1910, 5 Chancery Lane is being sustainably retrofitted to deliver 100,000 sq ft of high-quality office space in the heart of London, between Holborn and Fleet Street.
Sustainability has been central to the design and delivery of this scheme. By retaining 86% of the existing structure, the project will save approximately 4,800 tonnes of CO2 while significantly reducing construction waste. The development is also expected to achieve an estimated annual saving of 540 tonnes of CO2 compared to the existing building, equivalent to removing 43 buses from the road.
The building has been carefully designed to minimise operational carbon and water consumption through tailored strategies that support long-term efficiency.
Pre-assessed to achieve BREEAM Excellent, 5 Chancery Lane demonstrates how retrofit can drive both environmental performance and high-quality workspace in a central London location.
