We celebrated the topping out of Hackney Yards yesterday, an important construction milestone marking the completion of the buildings’ highest point.

We were joined by Notting Hill Genesis, the London Legacy Development Corporation, and representatives from both Hackney and Tower Hamlets to mark this significant moment.

Hackney Yards forms a major part of the Hackney Wick Masterplan and will deliver 190 new homes along with over 40,000 square feet of commercial space in one of East London’s most creative and fast evolving neighbourhoods.

Spread across three sites around Hackney Wick Station, the project includes four brick clad blocks rising up to eight storeys, including over station construction. The homes are a mix of affordable rent and shared ownership, all designed with high specification interiors that reflect the character and energy of the local area.

Alongside the new homes, the development will provide a wide range of commercial and community focused spaces including retail units, leisure space, low-cost workspace, landscaped public realm, roof terraces and podiums.

This milestone is a testament to the coordination, planning and commitment of everyone involved in navigating a complex and highly constrained site. We are proud to be delivering this transformative scheme and look forward to completing the next stages as Hackney Wick continues to grow and thrive.
