Kidbrooke Station Square is at the heart of regeneration under way in the Kidbrooke area. Residential squares and streetscapes with podium level private courtyards will sit behind the station square, which will offer retail units and other services. Ardmore are currently delivering Phase 1 of the scheme.
Designed by the award-winning Glenn Howells Architects, the masterplan will deliver 619 new homes on a vacant four-acre site in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.
As the main contractor for Phase 1, Ardmore designed and constructed 413 new homes for private sale, shared ownership and affordable rent. The new homes sit within six new blocks featuring brick-built façades, reaching heights of up to 16 storeys, clustered around podium level landscaped courtyards.
The first phase of the development also incorporated the site-wide energy centre and provision of new public amenities, including a new public square and an improved transport hub connecting Kidbrooke Station and local bus services.
A complex civil engineering and phasing approach was required to overcome the challenges posed by the sloping brownfield site, including significant slope retention and maintaining a public footbridge over the site.
The scheme was being delivered through Kidbrooke Partnership LLP a joint venture partnership between TfL and Notting Hill Genesis.
